- Vijay Eswaran was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1959. His early childhood was spent in Malaysia before leaving to enter the United States on an academic scholarship at 16.
- He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans, where he won numerous awards for both his academic and athletic achievements. A former Golden Gloves boxing champion, Eswaran also appeared on the university’s football team as a walk-on quarterback.
- He earned a graduate degree at Louisiana State University and did post-graduate work at the London School of Economics. Eswaran is also the author of several books, including The QI Manifesto, published in 1999, and 100 Facts About Psychology, An Enlightened Perspective, published in 2002.
