Haroldo Jacobovicz had a keen interest in the Information and Technology sector and devised a way to ease stock-taking and cash handling tasks. He aimed to help the small sector businesses excel technologically. He teamed up with some computer experts from the university and together they implemented the idea into a software, Microsystem. This software was to help stores, pharmacies, and supermarkets ease up their day-to-day operations by using computerized means. The small businesses had no infrastructure to embrace this technological advancement therefore the initiative closed after a year of operation.
Haroldo Jacobovicz proceeded to look for work and was picked among a list of over 200 engineers in an American company dealing in the distribution of oil. Here he was positioned as a reserve salesman and later got promoted to oversee commercial and new business tactics. When the price freeze occurred, at the time of the Cruzado plan, more pressure mounted on Haroldo Jacobovicz and he left the company. He sought employment in the public sector and was offered a post in Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant as an advisor. It is here that he saw an opportunity to revisit his idea. He started a computer renting and maintenance firm that won several tenders across the country.
Having reached out to small agencies countrywide, he resolved to aim for the bigger agencies and thus initiated the Horizon Telecom Company in 2010. The company has been able to reach out to Brazilians and they value its services highly. The clients can choose from a wide variety of speed options ranging from 5 Mbps to 1 Gbps for their operations. 24/7 customer care enhances the user experience effectively.
