Ryan Seacrest is an American television and radio host best known for his work on American Idol, Live with Kelly and Ryan, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and most recently for taking over as host for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia but moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue work on the radio in the mid-90s. Ryan Seacrest was a popular radio show host but his big break came in 2002 when he started hosting the hit T.V. show, American Idol. He was the one constant during the show’s run as judges were often replaced but Seacrest remained on the show until it was canceled in 2016.
When the American Idol Show was reintroduced in 2018 he returned to his position as host. As his popularity grew, Ryan Seacrest was able to expand his career as a radio broadcaster. In 2004 he started the successful radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, where he discusses music and entertainment news. He also took over for Casey Kasem as host of American Top 40. Seacrest’s career in television was also growing. In 2005 he began working on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve.
At this program, he had a huge success taking over as host when Dick Clark unfortunately passed away in 2012. He hosted the entertainment news show E! News from 2006 to 2011 and in 2017 he began co-hosting Live with Kelly & Ryan alongside Kelly Ripa. Seacrest has also branched out into retail. He launched a men’s clothing line, Distinction, with Macy’s in 2014 offering a range of timeless men’s fashions made from premium fabrics (Onairwithryan).
The Ryan Seacrest Distinction was set with an eye towards celebrating classic looks in a contemporary way. He also aided in launching the skincare line Polished by Dr. Lancer as a skincare line devoted to addressing the needs of men. The line includes a serum, scrub, moisturizer, cleanser and shaving cream, and lip care all designed specifically for men’s skin. Ryan Seacrest also works to help make hospital stays more pleasant for sick children through the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. His foundation aims to aid in the healing process by providing creative outlets for children in radio, television, and new media.
