Joseph Ashford is also passionate about The Butterfly Foundation, an organization he started when he learned about Mason White, a youngster suffering from EB. The rare genetic disorder causes blisters and painful sores as it prevents the production of proteins connecting the epidermis and dermis, making the skin fragile, and increasing the risks of skin cancer. The foundation provides social awareness education, and financial support for the affected and helps improve their quality of life.
