Dr. Oz, affectionately known by many as America’s Doctor, has recently published two pieces in Forbes magazine, where he writes about his favorite subject: medicine.
A Message to the Vulnerable
In the piece entitled “Dr. Oz: A Message to the Vulnerable,” the renowned doctor focuses on the things that we can do in our day-to-day lives to tackle conditions that compromise good health. Always the practical doctor, he urges Americans to move from being “vulnerable” to being “vital” by losing inches off of their waistlines, lowering their blood pressure, and avoiding harmful habits such as vaping and smoking. Proper diet and reasonable exercise are big components in his pitch for healthy living.
Medicare Advantage
In his second Forbes piece entitled “Medicare Advantage for All Can Save Our Health Care System,” the affable doctor, with co-contributor and former CEO of Kaiser Permanente George Halvorson, argues for a rapid and comprehensive way to bring universal health care to all Americans. In their proposal, they argue that the already highly successful Medicare Advantage program could be rapidly expanded so that, if not covered by Medicaid already, Americans could obtain coverage through Medicare Advantage.
