Bo Parfet – A Business Adventurer

Bo Parfet is an experienced leader in the financial world. He decided to combine his two passions in his younger years and make them into his life mission. As a native of Minnesota, he acquired a love of nature early in life, and so he took to sports like hiking and climbing, which eventually led to a love of extreme sports. But Parfet also knew he needed the financial tools to be a success, so he graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Economics and joined the finance world.

Education

Bo Parfet pursued a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and later acquired an MBA from Northwestern University. His educational background landed him a job as a research fellow at the Accounting Standards Board in Michigan and set him up for later success in the financial trade industry.

Career

Parfet landed a job in finance right out of university and later climbed his way into financial trading, where he worked for well-known brokerage firms for several years. During this time, he also developed his interests in mountain climbing events and decided to train and take on Mount Everest’s challenge. After successfully climbing the challenging peak, he took on the other 6 summits and is one of less than 200 people who have climbed the 7 summits (the highest mountains) of the world.

Entrepreneurship

After having taken on the 7 summits, he turned to new challenges and became an author. He is best known for Die Trying on Amazon, a story of his travels along the 7 summits.

He also became an entrepreneur and an inspiration for people in the financial sector for a man who believes in social entrepreneurship. His latest role is as a co-founder with the Explorers Club to fund students with research grants.

Philanthropy

Bo Parfet is also an avid philanthropist and founded Denali Venture, an organization that funds entrepreneurs who want to create socially conscious businesses.
