An Overview of the Political Journey for Asot Michael

Asot Michael was born in 1996 and is a successful politician. He grew up in a family that actively participated in political matters. It all started when his late father supported the ABL party during the 1970’s political crisis. The love Asot Michael had for the party saw him sacrifice his business. Michael’s three elder brothers took the mantle from their father, diving into the social politics of Barbuda and Antigua.

 

Education life

 

Asot Michael went to St. Joseph Academy for his high school education, which he completed in 1986. He later joined Barry University, graduating in 1989 with a BS Degree. The scholar also pursued a course in economics and finance. Michael attended Miami University for an MBA, where he graduated in 1991. Asot Michael performed excellently in academics which earned him several awards, including the Delta Mu Delta National Honor. Growing up, he developed boundless love for business and economics, which saw him acquire primary leadership skills. Studying abroad made him understand how governance works, which fueled his political dreams. After completing his college education, he went back to his community, where he engaged in social services.

 

Political Life

As a Member of Parliament in Antigua, Michael has maintained a healthy relationship with his constituents by supporting social projects. He has a massive following in Barbuda and Antigua, becoming one of the most adored political leaders. He belongs to the Barbuda Labor Party that has earned significant popularity within the region and beyond. Asot Michael became the Special Administrative Assistant in 1995, serving in the prime minister’s office. The opportunity came with a significant breakthrough as it provided him with the outstanding political experience he needed to achieve his dreams. He served under that capacity up to 1997, when he acquired a higher position, becoming the chief of staff. In 1999, Asot Michael’s star brightened when Antigua Parliament appointed him as the Senator. In addition, he served as the Leader of Government Business, a position that propelled his political career immensely. He later became the Minister of Public Works up to 2003. As a Member of Parliament, Michael has transformed Antigua and Barbuda significantly, serving his constituency diligently and in total honesty.
