Tieks And Kfir Gavrieli: A CEO Discusses The Success of Tieks

It’s always inspiring when you find stories about someone who is successful in such a short amount of time. Kfir Gavrieli, the CEO of Tieks, is one of those people. Less than 3 years after launching his company, he was able to raise more than $40 million.

It all started with a Kickstarter campaign Kfir Gavrieli and his friend Dan Bronchick decided that they wanted to create something new and unique in the shoe industry: flats that were comfortable, beautiful and easy to walk in.

Tieks original concept was the “flat ballet slipper for women who want to stand out.” Gavrieli and Bronchick used a 3D printer to create their first prototype, which was launched through Kickstarter in the fall of 2013 with a goal of $300,000. In 24 hours Tieks reached $1 million in sales, eventually raising more than $13 million in pre-orders.

“I never expected for it to be this big and successful,” said Gavrieli. “Even now when we get a call from the mayor of LA or Vogue, I still can’t believe that all these things are happening around me! It is so surreal.” With Gavrieli’s new company, Tieks, his focus is on meeting the demands of consumers so they can be closer to their goal. His years of business experience as a top executive at more than six different companies has helped him develop into what he calls an “effective communicator and decision maker.” His time in the military helped him understand and adapt to the ups and downs of life. His ability to understand people is what drives him to succeed on a daily basis.

“I like understanding how other people think,” Gavrieli said. “It makes me more intuitive, so I can predict what would happen in the short, medium and long term. “Kfir Gavrieli said he is excited about what the future holds for Tieks, especially since they have been working on their new line of women’s shoes and are set to launch soon. He also credits his biggest business achievements to his team that consists of 200 employees worldwide including all the part-time employees who work at Tieks’ Los Angeles headquarters.
